Eligibility FAQs

How do I know if Tranche 2 applies to my business?

Tranche 2 applies when you provide a “designated service”, not because of your profession. If you provide any of the services listed on this page in the course of carrying on a business, you’re likely regulated and must enrol with AUSTRAC.

Do I need to enrol with AUSTRAC?

Yes, if you provide a designated service. Businesses already providing one on 1 July 2026 had until 29 July 2026 to enrol; anyone starting now must enrol within 28 days of first providing it.

I only do tax returns. Am I covered?

Preparing tax returns and giving tax advice aren’t designated services on their own. But if you also set up companies or trusts, manage client money, or help with property or business sales, those services are covered.

Is this check legal advice?

No. It’s a quick guide based on the services you tick. Whether a particular service is covered depends on the detail, so check AUSTRAC’s guidance or book a free 15-minute call with our consultants.
